What is the Teen Library Council?

  • Our Teen Library Council (TLC) provides teens ages 14-17 with the opportunity to make a positive difference in our community and have input in the way the Library serves teens.

What We Do:

  • Promote and help out at children and teen programs.
  • Serve as an integral part of our Summer Reading Program volunteer team. 
  • Give back to the community through outreach projects.
  • Provide input for what programs teens need from the Library.

What You Gain:

  • Volunteer credit
  • Skills and experience (this looks great on a college or job application!)
  • New friends
  • The chance to have a positive impact on your community

Requirements & Commitment

  • 14 to 17 years of age
  • An e-mail address that you check regularly
  • Attend the monthly meetings
  • Sign up to assist in running Library events
  • Spread the word about teen programs happening at the Library
