The responsibilities of the City Clerk include:

- Index of most common records
- Police records request form
- Ambulance Billing page for EMS/Ambulance records
- Fire Marshal's Office page for Fire Marshal records
- Court records can be obtained by calling 564-397-2125
- ONLINE FORM FOR ANY OTHER RECORDS REQUEST (Requests are processed according to Municipal Research Service Center's "Public Records Act for Washington Cities, Counties and Special Purpose Districts" publication)
- Record City Council, Planning Commission, and other public meetings
- Maintain the City’s Municipal Code
- Ensure resident access to City government
- Publish and maintain City ordinances and resolutions.
- Publish legal public notices for the City Council and other City business
- Serve as the agent for the City to receive Tort Claims for damages
- Assist in administration of Mayor's Proclamations
