Yes. All dogs are required to be on leash within the Camas-Washougal city limits, unless in a designated dog park.
The City of Camas charges $40 to get your dog out of impound along with a $5 boarding fee. The next time your dog is impounded the charge is $55 plus the boarding fee.
Call Animal Control immediately at 360-835-8701 and request that an Animal Control Officer investigate your complaint. If violations of local ordinances are found, the pet owner may be cited or the animal(s) may be taken into custody. If this occurs, the owner must pay fees and/or penalties when reclaiming the animal from the animal shelter. When serious violations are reported, such as animal cruelty or dangerous animals, you may need to be willing to testify in court. Additionally, animal control officers may need to ask you to help establish additional evidence (i.e. testimony from neighbors) so they may take enforcement action.
