Projects and Goals
The Information Technology Department is responsible for all of the City's technologies. This includes the maintenance and support of 13 facilities, 275+ computers, ipads, notebooks and mobile devices, 240+ VoIP phones, voicemail, faxing, internet, email, web development and other technology services to support approximately 220 full and part-time employees.
2021 Projects Include:
- Selection, installation and programming the City's new Phone and Voicemail System
- Final programming and development of the City's new website, including the new Engage Camas tool for citizen engagement with the City
- The creation of a City Technology Governance Team to review, recommend and prioritize technology projects and investments
- Office365, Teams and Phone integrations
- Department-specific application upgrades for Library, Police & Fire
- Working with the Finance Director and city staff to create a new governance team for the planning and implementation of the new InterGov ERP system
- Facility improvements to enhance securities both physical and at the system/application levels, as well as other networking upgrades
- Updates to the City's disaster recovery process and backup solutions
- Ongoing cybersecurity training for all users of the city's network resources and email system
- Update to the City's Technology Roadmap and yearly work plans
