2024 Annual Permit Performance Report

In 2023, the Washington State Legislature passed SB 5290, which amends the Local Project Review Act (RCW 36.70B). Its purpose is to consolidate, streamline, and improve the local permit review process, particularly for residential development. Among other amendments, SB 5290 created new requirements for certain jurisdictions to submit annual reports on permit processing timelines and other metrics to the Washington State Department of Commerce.
