CJ Mickens had the opportunity to appear on Season 2 of American Idol (2002), followed by 'Showtime at the Apollo' in 2004. Since then CJ Mickens has taken the opportunity of redirecting his gift in singing to reaching out and inspiring others. In 2012 he was announced the winner of Portland Idol, starred in his own show Sunday Night Soul and won a national award with his acappella group Rezonate at the Pacific Northwest Harmony Sweepstakes. He currently performs with his own band as well as a popular featured vocalist with top groups in the Northwest, such as Patrick Lamb and the Hit Factory and Blue Wave. https://www.cjmickens.com/

Louis “King Louis” Pain - July 14 (Soul-Jazz and Groove)
The 4 Kings is a soulful, entertaining all-star quartet consisting of organist Louis “King Louis” Pain, vocalist Sean Holmes, saxophonist Renato Caranto, and drummer Edwin Coleman III. Pain and Caranto are Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductees who have played thousands of gigs together with various bands. Separately, Pain toured & recorded with the late NW blues legends Paul deLay and Linda Hornbuckle, and Caranto toured & recorded with Grammy-winners Esperanza Spalding and Merle Haggard. Holmes and Coleman have played with popular NW bands Soul Vaccination, 5 Guys Named Moe, and more. When all four of these “kings” get together, the musical fun & spontaneity are off the charts! https://louispain.com/
