Vehicle Restoration Permit
The City requires an individual to obtain a vehicle restoration permit if they own a vehicle that has been declared a public nuisance/junk vehicle and meets any of the following categories:
- Is 3 years old or older
- Is without a valid current registration plate
- Is apparently inoperable, has a fair market value equal only to the scrap in it, or is extensively damaged (may include broken window(s) or windshield or missing wheels, tires, motor, or transmission.
An application for a vehicle restoration permit can be obtained online or in person, and must be submitted along with a $30 application fee to the Finance Department. Vehicle restoration permits are valid for 60 days and are non-renewable.
Payment can be made in person with cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover Card. If the application is mailed, a check or money order must be included.
