The cities of Camas and Washougal know that your dog is a valued member of your household. As such, the Camas-Washougal Animal Control Division was formed to help safeguard your pet. The Animal Control Division works within the Camas and Washougal communities to address neglected, abused, loose and vicious dogs, barking dogs complaints, dog bites, and lost and found dogs.
The Camas-Washougal Fire Department administers fire and life safety regulations for all properties within the Camas and Washougal city limits. Permits must be obtained from the Fire Marshal's Office (FMO) for construction-related permits including but not limited to new construction, alteration, demolition, new occupancies, changes of occupancies, and installation of fire alarm and/or fire suppression systems.
Why does the Fire Department conduct fire and life safety inspections?
Regular fire and life safety inspections are a critical part of fire prevention. Inspectors enforce the International Fire Code during these inspections, working to detect fire hazards and minimize the risk of life and property loss from fire. These inspections also help to promote safe practices by creating an awareness of fire and its potential for occurrence.
