About

The City Clerk's Office provides a variety of services that support the City Council, City staff, and the residents of Camas.

It is our responsibility to ensure access to public meetings and information in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act and Public Records Act. We coordinate and publish agendas for City Council Meetings, process legislation and produce meeting minutes. We also respond to public disclosure requests and oversee the management of City records. Other functions of the Clerk's Office include publishing legal notices and serving as a liaison to Clark County Elections.

Requesting Records

If you are unable to submit your request online, you may also make a request by mail or in person, by completing our Public Records Request Form. To submit your request, you may mail or hand deliver the form to:

Please note that the Camas Police Department handles their requests directly. Requests for the police department can be submitted online at Police Records Request or contact the record's office at (360) 834-4151.

Response to Record Requests

Within five business days of receiving a request, the City Clerk's Office will do one of the following:

• Make the records available for inspection or copying
• Send copies to the requester if payment has been received or waived
• Provide a reasonable timeline of when the records will be available
• Contact the requester to request clarification
• Deny the request, specifying the reason for denial

If the requester does not receive a response within five days, please contact the City of Camas to determine the reason for the delay. The City of Camas provides space to inspect records. The City of Camas responds to requests for public records in accordance with Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 42.56. The City Clerk serves as the designated Public Records Officer for the City.
