Work Type Yes/No Information
Accessory Structures (i.e. Pergola, Shed, Carport, Detached Garage, etc) Yes A permit is required if the structure is over 120 square feet. 14' is the max height. A site plan and Washington State stamped engineering plans need to be submitted for review.Call 360-817-1568 or email permits@cityofcamas.us with questions.
Mechanical & Plumbing Permits (i.e. fireplace insert, gas piping, hose bibs, water heaters) Maybe A permit is only required if there are no modifications to gas lines, plumbing lines, or the location. If a permit is required, the are generally issued the same day.
Backflow & Irrigation Yes A permit is generally issued the same day the application is submitted. For more information see Public Works' Backflow & Cross-Connection Prevention page.
Concrete Patio No A permit is not required. If the patio is higher than 30" from the grade please contact the building department.
Deck Yes A permit is required if the deck is more than 30" from grade and/or is connected to the home. A site plan and Washington State stamped engineering plans need to be submitted for review.
Doors/Windows Yes A permit is required if there is a new opening or change in size. Plans need to be submitted for review. If replace like-for-like, no plans are required and a permit is generally issued the same day that the application is submitted.
Driveway Yes A General Encroachment permit is required for work done in the public right-of-way. Contact engineering at 360-817-1561 or permits@cityofcamas.us with questions.
Electrical Yes All electrical permits are issued by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. Please call 360-896-2300 or email electricalprogram@lni.wa.gov.
Fence No Permit is required by some restrictions. Please refer to Camas Municipal Code 18.17.050 on the City website.
Interior Remodel Yes A permits is required depending on scope of work. Please contact Building at 360-817-1568 or  permits@cityofcamas.us for more information.
Residential Roof & Siding Yes A permit is generally issued the same day that the application is submitted as long as there are no structural changes. If there is structural changes/repair, you will need a Remodel/Alteration/Repair permit.
Retaining Wall Yes A permit is required if the wall is over 4' in height and/or does not affect surcharge. Walls over 6' will require Land Use Review as well. A site plan and Washington State stamped engineering plans need to be submitted for review.
Swimming Pool Yes A permit is required if in-ground swimming pools and/or swim spas are 2' deep, or if pre-fabricated pools are over 5,000 gallons above ground. A site plan and Washington State stamped engineering plans need to be submitted for review.
