PUBLIC NOTICE
Fluoridation of City Water
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will occur on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 616 NE 4th Avenue; and
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that residents can attend remotely per the details included on the agenda available on the City website - www.cityofcamas.us/meetings a few days prior to the meeting; and
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the purpose of the Public Hearing is for the Camas City Council to consider an ordinance change to Discontinue Fluoridization of the City's Municipal Water Supply. This practice began in 1966 under City Ordinance 1059 and is codified in Camas Municipal Code Section 13.16.020. Discussion of a potential ordinance change will be heard at the Regular Camas City Council meeting scheduled for Monday, March 17, 2025. The City Council will consider all public testimony and may take formal action at a future meeting. This notice is being provided to City of Camas water system customers and the Washington State Department of Health, as required by law in HB 1251 and RCW 70A.125.210; and
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that any interested party may be heard at the hearing. In addition, written public comments regarding the topic may also be submitted at any time between this publication and the completion of the hearing to the City Clerk at publiccomments@cityofcamas.us with “Fluoride Public Comment” in the subject line; and
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in the hearing, and any non-English speaking person wishing to participate in the hearing, is asked to advise the City at least five days before the hearing by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at 360-834-6864 or by email at administration@cityofcamas.us.
