Fill the Gallery! Elementary Art Exhibit

Fill the Gallery! Elementary Art Exhibit

For the month of March, the Second Story Gallery will display pieces of artwork by elementary school students from our community. We want as many students to participate as possible with the hope of filling the gallery to the brim with artwork!  Therefore, we are calling the exhibit Fill the Gallery! Elementary Art Exhibit. March is designated as Youth Art Month, so we wanted to use this opportunity to display artwork from the young artists in our community.

How You Can Submit YOUR Artwork:

1.) Bring artwork that you made at home or school to the Library:

Submitting your artwork is easy. You can bring your artwork to the service desk at the Library anytime the Library is open starting on February 5. You will need to fill out a label for your artwork and provide your contact information as well. There will be blank labels at the service desk, or you print one at home and bring it. (Here’s the link to the label/contact form if you want to print it at home). Limit of 1 to 2 submissions per student. Last day to submit work is Monday, Feb. 26. After the exhibit is over, you can pick up your artwork from April 3rd - 10th.

2.) Come to one of these events at the Library and make artwork that will be included in the exhibit:

In preparation for this exhibition, there will be several events held in the Library in February where we asked students to come and create work that would then be included in the exhibit.

  • Model Magic Sculpture Take Home Kit: Sign up to pick up some Model Magic, use it to make a sculpture, and then bring back to the Library.
  • Kids Art Club: Wednesday, February 14 from 4–5:30 p.m. This is a special edition of Kids Art Club. We’ll have a few art projects you can work on, then leave your work so we can include it in the exhibition. No registration required!
  • Fill the Gallery! Art Workshop (session 1): Monday, February 5 from 5:30–6:30 pm. We are going to have a few art projects kids can work on during this event, then leave your work so we can include it in the exhibition. No registration required!
  • Fill the Gallery! Art Workshop (session 2): Tuesday, February 20 from 4–5:30 pm. We are going to have a few more art projects kids can work on during this event, then leave your work so we can include it in the exhibition. No registration required!

The opening reception will be on Friday, March 1st from 5-8pm. This reception is a part of the Downtown Camas Association’s First Friday events in downtown Camas.
