Youth Art Exhibits this Summer at Second Story Gallery

Youth Art Exhibits this Summer at Second Story Gallery

The Second Story Gallery, located inside the Camas Public Library, is proud to announce two exciting youth art showcases this summer, featuring the incredible talents of our local students.

High School Art Showcase

Date: July 1-31, 2024

Opening Reception: July 5, 2024, 5-8 p.m.

In July, the Gallery will display a vibrant collection of high school student artwork. This showcase highlights the creativity and skill of our young artists from Camas, Discovery, and Hayes Freedom High Schools. Visitors can expect to see a diverse range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.

Middle School Art Showcase

Date: Aug. 1-31, 2024

Opening Reception: Aug. 2, 2024, 5-8 p.m.

Following the high school exhibit, in August the Gallery will feature an equally impressive collection from our middle school students at Liberty, Odyssey, and Skyridge Middle Schools. This showcase provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the budding talents of younger artists and encourages their continued artistic growth.

Both showcases are open to the public and free of charge. The Gallery is open during Library hours. The opening receptions will occur during the First Friday events in downtown Camas, and light refreshments will be served.

“We invite the community to come and support our local youth, marvel at their artistic achievements, and be inspired by the future of the arts in Camas.” said Connie Urquhart, Library Director.
