Backflow and Cross-Connection Prevention

Backflow and Cross-Connection Prevention

Washington State Law and City Ordinances require all underground irrigation (sprinkler) systems and high-hazard water system connections to have a backflow prevention assembly installed on the service line. Per Washington State Law (WAC 246-290) and Camas Municipal Code (CMC) section 13.32, backflow prevention assemblies are required to be annually tested by a Certified Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT). Without proper backflow protection, your irrigation system could endanger the health of your family, neighbors, and others in the community who are using the public water system. For backflow questions, contact the City at 360-817-1569, or backflow@cityofcamas.us.

Annual notices are sent by the Public Works Department and test results must be returned to the City of Camas (WAC 246-290-490). Test Reports may be submitted to backflow@cityofcamas.us.
