The City of Camas will begin the annual process of lowering the water level in Round and Lacamas lakes beginning September 14. This process makes it possible for us to inspect the upper and lower dams and conduct any necessary maintenance. During the drawdown, water levels will be reduced by approximately six feet. The lakes will reach their lowest levels around September 28 and refilling will tentatively begin on October 26. During this period of low water, boat launches may not be accessible.

Consistent with the cancellation of other annual events throughout the City due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and taking into account the overall water quality of the lakes over the last few months, the annual Lacamas Lake Clean-up has been cancelled. Current Phase II requirements in effect through the Governor’s orders restrict the gathering of large groups for this type of special event. The City, County, and other regional partners have been coordinating on both short- and long-term efforts to improve water quality in the lakes and anticipate holding the annual clean-up event in 2021.

Please contact City of Camas Public Works with any questions at 360-817-1563.
