The City will begin its annual pavement treatment program on Wednesday, August 12th provided the weather is favorable. “Slurry Seals” will be completed over a four-day period as shown on the map below. A Slurry Seal is a mix of oil and crushed rock that is applied to roads in urban areas to extend pavement life. Public Works Crews have already begun trimming vegetation and filling cracks in preparation.
This process requires a one-day road closure to allow the mix to cure before reopening. All residents who live on streets scheduled for treatment will receive mail notifications. Door hangers will also be placed two to three days in advance before work begins on each street. For additional questions or comments please contact Denis Ryan at (360) 817-7983.
