Youth & Senior Program Scholarship Application

Assistance is available to Youth & Senior participants with financial need who live in our community. Camas Parks & Recreation receives funds from various organizations to support our scholarship program. Youth & Seniors in the community who are interested in participating in a program offered through our department are encouraged to apply.

Camas Parks and Recreation Scholarship Regulations: 

• DEADLINE: Return your application with activity registration form no later than one week prior to the start of your requested class/activity. Sponsorship applications are reviewed regularly.

• This scholarship will fund 50% of the program for which you are applying.

• Your portion of the payment will be due prior to the first day of the program you are registering for.

• Children ages 17 and under or Senior Citizens aged 65+, living in Camas or Washougal, are eligible.

• New residents (under 6 months) to the C-W area are eligible for 50% sponsorship.

• Qualified, first-time applicants will be chosen before repeat applicants. Additional funds, if available, may be used to fund repeat participants.

• Applicants applying for ongoing classes (i.e. Kung Fu, Busy Bees, and Dance) will be funded 50% for a total of 3 months, per year.

• Applicants applying for individual classes (i.e. Camps, Clinics), may be sponsored up to 3 independent (not ongoing) classes/activities per year.

• Unexcused absence from a program may result in ineligibility of future scholarships. If you are unable to attend, call 360-834-5307 to be excused from the program.

• No make-ups will be provided or allowed for missed programs.

• Parents/Guardians must provide transportation. Parks and Recreation does not provide transportation.

The information on the forms will be kept confidential, except as needed to determine qualifications for the scholarship. You will be contacted regarding the results of the scholarship request.
