CAMAS PARKS AND RECREATION SHARED-USE COURT RULES

The Camas Parks and Recreation department recently completed work on the Grass Valley Park Multi-Use Courts. 

As part of the courts resurfacing project, the tennis courts are now striped for pickleball to allow for more sport options for residents.

“We’re excited to have these newly resurfaced courts available for residents,” says Parks Director Trang Lam. “We have a lot of tennis and pickleball players in our community and we’re happy to be able to refresh and create additional multi-use courts for both users, in addition to the courts at Crown Park.”

With two park locations with multi-use courts for tennis and pickleball, the City is piloting shared use hours this summer. There will be dedicated days and times at both Grass Valley Park and Crown Park for tennis and pickleball use May 1 through September 30. At the end of the summer, we’ll survey users on the shared use pilot. 

• Tennis players can use Crown Park Monday, Wednesday, Friday 1:00pm-5:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00am-12:00pm and the 2^nd & 4^th Saturday of every month.
• Tennis players can also use Grass Valley Park Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00am-12:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday 1:00pm-5:00pm and the 1^st & 3^rd Saturday of every month.
• Pickleball players can also use Crown Park Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00am-12:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday 1:00pm-5:00pm and the 1^st & 3^rd Saturday of every month.
• Pickleball players can use Grass Valley Park Monday, Wednesday, Friday 1:00pm-5:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00am-12:00pm and the 2^nd & 4^th Saturday of every month.

If the courts are not being used, anyone can play either pickleball or tennis. If players of both sports would like to play at the same time, and there is not enough court space for the players of both sports, the sport with the priority time is permitted to play and the other players should relinquish the court(s).  All remaining days including Sunday mornings and all afternoons/evenings are open play and are ­first come ­first served. Time Limits for All Users are 1 hour for singles and 1.5 hours for doubles. If no one is waiting, continue to play until others arrive. Courts are for tennis and pickleball play only.
