Welcome to the Community Development Department



Effective March 26th through April 7, 2020 or as extended by Governor’s Order – Access to Community Development (permits, planning/development engineering and inspections):

  • Applications and plan submittals that relate to essential facilities or for emergency repairs and projects that ensure structural integrity for residential structures in compliance with the Governor's proclamation will be accepted by appointment only.
  • Questions as to whether or not your company qualifies as essential contact; business@mil.wa.gov
  • All other building permits or planning reviews may be sent via mail or electronically when allowed.  Plans will be reviewed within established timeframes.
  • ONLY permits that are related to essential facilities

TheThird Avenue entrance at City Hall is a one stop shop for development within the City of Camas. We hope this streamlines your development review, which involves collaboration from many city departments and other agencies. The Community Development Department is comprised of the Building and Planning Divisions. Phil Bourquin has served as the Community Development Director since 2006.

New Flood Hazard Zone Maps
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has prepared revised maps that identify new flood hazard zones. Click here to view if your property is within a flood zone.
