ENGINEER II - STORMWATER
Starting salary $5683-6245/monthly DOE
The City of Camas is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Engineer II – Stormwater. The individual selected for this position will work under the supervision of the Utilities Manager and work closely with the Streets and Stormwater operations divisions.
Primary duties this individual will perform include a variety of stormwater related duties supporting compliance with the City’s Stormwater NPDES Phase II Permit requirements, including oversight of permit implementation within Public Works, annual submission of permit report, and tracking of permit compliance. Work may also generally include completing various stormwater field inspections and plan reviews for compliance; design and inspection associated with development of the City’s stormwater infrastructure; work on applicable grant or loan applications; and providing assistance and information to contractors, engineering professionals and the general public.
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and it is based out of the City’s Public Works Operations Center. The position is represented by the Camas Public Employees’ Association and is eligible for a full benefits package.
Candidates for this position shall have:
• Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field
• Three years of increasingly responsible experience in engineering or stormwater related activities
• Valid driver’s license
• Possession of an EIT certificate is highly desirable (5% pay premium will be added to base pay), but not required
In addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: positive attitude, ability to take initiative and work independently with little direction, excellent customer service skills, good verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, demonstrated organizational and decision-making skills and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
