Entry Level Police Officer Process:

The City utilizes a continuous testing process for both Entry Level and Lateral Police Officer positions.  The City contracts with Public Safety Testing (PST) to administer both the written and physical agility portions of the selection process and an applicant must pass both before they can apply with the City.  

To find out more about testing with PST, please visit www.publicsafetytesting.com. They have information regarding test dates as well as frequently asked questions.

Once an applicant has passed both processes with PST, and upon request of the City, a listing of candidates is sent electronically to the City. These applicants will be notified by the City when a position is open to participate in the City’s application and interview process. DO NOT contact the City of Camas regarding your score or status. You will be contacted if/when you will be considered as an applicant with us.

Utility Maintenance Worker Job Description
Grounds Worker Job Description

The City of Camas is currently seeking qualified candidates for two full-time positions within the Public Works Department: Grounds Worker I and Utility Maintenance Worker I.  Please specify in the job position section of the application if you have a preference in position: grounds or utilities. Otherwise, you will be considered for any of the openings.

These are entry-level positions within the respective divisions of the Department. The hours for these positions are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm (7am-3:30pm from Labor Day to Memorial Day) and they are based at the City Operations Center. These positions are members of the AFSCME Local 307-CC bargaining unit.

The ideal candidates for these positions shall have education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and entry level experience in grounds maintenance or utilities maintenance. Possession of a valid Driver’s License is required. Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred and will be required within 12 months of the date of employment.

In addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: excellent customer service skills, dependability, positive attitude, ability to take initiative, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with all sectors of the community and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
