Match and Lighter Safety

Safety and Public Education

The Department provides a variety of safety and public education programs.

Visits to the fire station are a popular activity for children. Visits may be arranged by telephone, (360) 834-2262 x1, and talking with the on-duty Fire Captain.

A Fire Station “Open House” has been an annual event at Station 42 since the station's “Grand Opening” in 2001. The 14th annual Open House and Health and Safety Fair was held September 27th this past year.  We are planning on holding future Open Houses in September. 

Department personnel visit classrooms at local schools with a fire prevention message each October during National Fire Prevention Week.

You will often find firefighter's at Camas and Washougal events, Heritage Days, the Camas Days parade and Boo Bash to name a few.  In addition the bay doors are often opened at Station 41 during Camas Farmer's Market on Wednesday.

The fire department will offer assistance with placement of detectors in the home, please call the fire department at 360-834-2262 x1.
