The Camas Public Library is now accepting applications for volunteers for the Summer Reading Program (SRP). Adults and teens at least 13 years old will be seated at the SRP registration table in the Children’s Library. Duties will include registering participants, logging participation, and issuing prizes. Volunteers must submit an application by June 11. Qualified applicants must be available to attend a 90-minute training session, and possess the ability to quickly learn the online computer program used to track participant progress. They must also have an email address that is checked regularly, enjoy talking to kids, be punctual, be friendly, and love reading!
Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 30 hours during the eight-week program. The SRP runs June 16 through August 11. The Library is open M-W, 10am-8pm, and Th-Sat, 10am-6pm. For more information, or to become a volunteer, contact Ellen Miles, Programming & Outreach Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 360-834-4692, ext. 4703.
